Description
Coffee origin: Buesaco, Nariño
The department of Nariño is famous for the quality of its coffee and is home to San Juan de Pasto, its capital. It is located in southwestern Colombia, between the Andean and Pacific regions. Nariño has a diverse geography and a climate that varies according to altitude.
Altitude, soil, and climate: factors that make our coffee special.
Nariño coffee is grown at high altitudes, in soils with a high organic matter content that allow it to grow coffee up to 2,300 meters above sea level. Its coffees are characterized by high acidity, sweet notes, and pronounced aroma.
Buesaco is located 38 kilometers northeast of San Juan de Pasto, at an altitude of 1,959 meters above sea level, with an average temperature of 18 degrees Celsius. Its total area is 682 square kilometers, distributed across seven townships and 73 villages. Most of the municipality is mountainous, with some flat, gently rolling areas.
Buesaco Coffee Fair: a tribute to the coffee that gives us development and economic growth.
Coffee production is Buesaco's main source of income, and all production is exported. The coffee fair they hold is a tribute to the product that has provided so much development and economic growth to the country, the department, and the municipality of Buesaco, which is the largest producer in the northern region of Nariño.
