Description
Fazenda Casa Nova: a coffee recommended for Brazilian coffee lovers
In 1989, Mr. Paulo Frederico, a civil engineer, purchased Finca Casa Nova, yearning for a quieter life closer to the countryside. Although some areas of the property were already planted with coffee, Mr. Paulo, a keen coffee connoisseur, decided to expand the farm's cultivation.
Since then, he and his wife have worked on the farm, and in 1994, they began producing specialty coffee. Since then, Finca Casa Nova has implemented wet milling, improved its patios, built suspended beds, and acquired a coffee processing machine, all with the goal of further improving their product, which they care for with great love and care.
Processing at Fazenda Casa Nova
Mr. Paulo proudly talks about each step of coffee processing at Finca Casa Nova. After washing the beans, they are taken to the patio and stirred several times a day for a week. Then, they are taken to the dryer until they reach a moisture level of 20%. After resting, the coffee returns to the dryer until it reaches the appropriate moisture levels.
Mr. Paulo says he's very proud of working with coffee and having dedicated his life to producing specialty coffee, as it has changed his life and he hopes it will change the lives of those who consume it as well.
